Science Olympiad provides opportunities to strengthen students’ understanding in STEM, promotes critical thinking and fosters team collaboration to learn new skills.
Science Olympiad is well established and nationally recognized. Tournaments are designed to be fun and rewarding where small team units compete in ‘events’ pertaining to various scientific disciplines. Events are knowledge-based (taking a test or mathematically analyzing data), engineering-based (constructing a device following specific parameters and testing it against others), or lab-based (performing experiments to achieve certain goals).
Division C is high school level. It is more student-driven -- requiring more autonomy, self-motivation and resourcefulness than lower divisions.
The Team earned 'Rookie Team of the Year' in 2023, outstanding achievement in the last season, and is on an upward trajectory.
